Taking the realm of gambling out of investing requires research and planning in building wealth. That does not mean that this will eliminate the risk factor, as there is nothing that can possibly do that, but it does reduce a level of risk. There are many claims of investment strategies that have the promise of insights in the fluctuation of the market. Other sources claim they can show you how to build a successful portfolio. Many of these insights are tested and if proven, as the saying goes, they would be worth their weight in gold. However, you have to be realistic. What if someone told you that a certain stock could be a great investment; you would also have to realize that it could crash just as easily.

Stock trading has been studied and analyzed by millions of investors over the years all around the world. The secret to gaining wealth in the market lies less in any particular stock as it does in your market strategy. "Buy low, sell high" is the mantra but without a plan the eager investor stands to lose it all. Keeping an eye on the market as a whole and paying attention to trends is as important for making money as knowing which company's stock is about to ignite. Your strategy depends on your role in the market. Some are blue chip, buy-and-hold types while others buy and sell rapidly based on a stock's minute-to-minute performance.

The knowledge you need to be a stock market success is out there and available. You just need to undertake some careful planning and loads of research. Some bits of knowledge are held close to the chest, of course, but the secret is soon shared or spotted by others. Insider trading aside, the "secrets" are available to the novice investor, sometimes without a fee. If someone wants to sell you their set of hot stock tips, be certain they come from exhaustive research, trial-and-error and familiarity with the minutiae of market volatility. Just because it is for sale does not mean it is worth buying. Worthwhile sellers know this and should be willing to share some hot stock tips as proof of their value.

Even though there are proven records of earnings on the buy-and-hold types, shareholders will generally only see a slow and steady growth. Margin trading, IPO's and smaller stocks can make or break you. You could be rich overnight and poor again the next. The beginner investor who depends upon their own knowledge will tend to lose a significant amount of money before seeing any gains. Only by studying the market trends and of course obtaining hot reliable tips will help ensure the beginner investor will not lose his shirt immediately.

The best stock investing tips are the ones that have been around the longest. The nature of the market is not unknown, it is human nature that controls the fluctuations. Stock trading is people responding to news items, annual reports, future predictions and all the various bits of advice flowing from all corners. While it is important to recognize the value of older, proven strategies, it is equally important to personalize your strategy. The market responds to the nature of investors and the side that makes the most money is the side that is ahead of the investor curve. Find markets or issues in which you see potential and buy.
